Fuck this guy is on fire. His remixes of Young MC - Bust a move and his colab with Verb on Pssy Mind (to name a few) are just spot on. Perfect electro sound, wobbly bass lines, sick sick kicks. He makes me want to grind my teeth and head bang all fucking day.

AND! his myspace is probably one of the best I've encountered.

Mark and I will be at New City griming it out with the Get Down and BTH crews, taking some photos so we have a lil something to jog our memories on saturday morning/afternoon/late evening, whenever your party ends!

Saturday night, Daphütur is threading some beats together at Oh Snap! in Temple. We're hitting the decks at about 1 am with some of Monsieur Daniels' and my favorite new tunes, so come bust a few with us!

Hoo-ly fuck we've had a busy couple weeks. what with school starting back up, work, and now, gigs coming out the wahzoo!

Besides our usual Thursday night at Wooly's this week, Mark and I are setting up at a house party on Friday near Southgate, and Saturday night, is the Botany Students Association Social!

Red Bull also asked us to play at the I-Ho afterparty to one of the sickest events they have to offer: Klunker Car Rally! It's basically a scavenger hunt around the city but, a rowdy one. Watch out for our car: a red quad cab chevy + a ladder on top + water guns = fire truck! We also posted a mix for this event, Red Bull is printing it and giving it to all the contestants!

On October 24, we're banging out some beats with E-Town's freshest acts, DJ BATTERY and the NEIGHBORHOOD RATS as the farewell to TKO, who is making the trip west to the greener lands of Vancouver. Consequently, it will be the last show together for the BROHANS. :(

HALLOWEEN NIGHT!!! The Starlight Room is hosting a fucking huge maskerade bash. Bands dressing up as other bands, djs dressing as your favorite djs! And guess who DAPHUTUR is going as!?


The next night, November 1, we've got a spot playing at another halloween party at the Dinwoodie Lounge on the U of A campus. Headlining: KRAFTY KUTS W/ DYNAMITE MC! Holy Fuck!

Z-Trip is one of the biggest DJs of our time, doing over 100 shows a year, every year. Considered by many to be a founder of the mash-up movement, his musical tastes are eclectic and his mixing style rejects simple classification. His early independent releases have become highly sought after collectibles. Uneasy Listening, the collaboration with DJ P, was one of the first of its kind, and has sold for as much as $500 on eBay.

No other DJ can claim playing to 500,000 people opening for the Rolling Stones at Sars-stock in Toronto, playing the Bonaroo main stage to over 70,000 people 2 years in a row, in addition to headlining a tent at Coachella twice. He's also been busy around the world doing the Good Vibrations Festival in Australia 2006, as a headliner. All of this in addition to his US and international headlining sold out shows, and multiple club residencies.

Z-Trip's major label debut "Shifting Gears" was given 4 stars by Rolling Stone—it's highest honor. The first single "Walking Dead" went Top 20 and featured Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. He's also a master of the remix, with a stand out re-working of The Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" on "Motown Remixed".
Z-Trip can be seen in the movie "Scratch" (and "Scratch Live") alongside Q-Bert, Mix Master Mike and originators of the art form like Afrika Bambaataa and Jazzy Jay. In addition, he's appeared in "Brainfreeze" and "Product Placement", two live concert movies, both of which feature friends DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist.

Shit Disco!

I made the little bike ride downtown last night to catch some new tunes at the Starlite Room. The guys I wanted to see the most were fellow e-town grimesters The Neighborhood Rats but had the pleasant treat of getting down to Dusty Grooves, Degree and a killer DJ set by some of the dudes from the Glasgow band, Shit Disco.
